Kink and BDSM in Las Vegas: where to learn and meet people

Most people who are into kink did not start in a dungeon. They started by reading, going to a class or meeting people at a casual get-together. Las Vegas has a real community around education and events, and it is easy to find if you know where to look.

Education and community groups

  • The Cathedral — a Las Vegas BDSM community group focused on education, workshops and events. Its site mentions munches, discussion groups, a rope lounge, a BDSM 101 resource and guidance on negotiation and consent. Visitors must be 18+. Check its calendar for current events.
  • The Las Vegas Toolbox — an alternative sexual health and education program that welcomes all genders and orientations.

Events

  • Shades of Play — a night of live performance, hands-on kink demonstrations, vendors and food, held as a fundraiser for the Las Vegas Toolbox. The most recent date we could find was March 8, 2025, so watch the site for the next one.

The Green Door, one of the large lifestyle clubs, includes a dungeon (see the lifestyle club guide).

What is a munch?

A munch is a casual, non-sexual meetup for the kink community, usually held at a restaurant or bar. There is no play and no dress code. It is the lowest-pressure way to meet people, ask questions and see whether a group is a good fit.

How to start safely

  • Learn before you play. Take a class on negotiation, consent and safety before trying anything with risk.
  • Negotiate everything. Talk through limits, safewords and aftercare in advance.
  • Meet people in public first. A munch or a class is a better start than a private invitation.
  • Never play with someone you have only just met, alone. Tell a friend where you are.
  • Go at your own pace. Watching is a perfectly good first step.
