Swingers and lifestyle clubs in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has some of the oldest and largest lifestyle clubs in the country. They are not like other venues. Most have entry rules, some are members-only, and the etiquette matters more than anything you wear. Here are the main clubs, what we could confirm about each, and how to approach your first visit.

The clubs

  • Red Rooster — 6405 Greyhound Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89122, about seven miles east of the Strip. Open since 1982, making it the oldest swingers club in the Las Vegas area. Couples and singles welcome, 25+ with ID, BYOB. Admission is by cash donation, and its site lists different amounts for couples, single women and single men. Phone (702) 451-6661.
  • The Green Door — 953 E Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89104, in the Commercial Center. Open since 1998 and billed as one of the largest clubs of its kind, with several themed rooms and a dungeon. Membership-based.
  • PlayhouseLV — a private, members-only club with a pool. Membership is by approval and capped. Event nights are split by guest type, such as couples and a limited number of single men, or couples and single women.
  • Whispers — 7455 S Valley View Blvd, on a large private property in the southwest valley. Described as a couples and single-women venue with a pool, dance floor and private rooms. Entry requires a membership and a non-disclosure agreement. It has faced county zoning action, so check that it is operating before you plan a visit.
  • Eden After Dark — a members-only lifestyle club based in Las Vegas that runs themed events in changing locations rather than from one venue. Events are for approved members only.

Details come from each club's own site or from news coverage. Rules and donation amounts change.

How lifestyle clubs work

  • On-premise clubs have play areas on site. Off-premise events are social only.
  • Many are couple-first, with limits on single men, and some nights are single-women or couples only.
  • Many are BYOB and do not sell alcohol.
  • Some need a membership, vetting or a signed agreement before you can enter.
  • Admission is often a "donation" or a fee that differs by guest type.

Etiquette that matters most

  • No means no, with no follow-up. Politely accept it and move on.
  • Ask before you touch, and ask again if the situation changes.
  • Talk before you go in. Couples should agree their limits and a signal to leave.
  • Social first. Spend time in the lounge. Nobody has to play.
  • No photos or video. Privacy is the foundation of these clubs.
  • Stay clean and sober enough to consent, and respect the club's rules on safer sex.
